New charging points for electric cars and motorbikes have been introduced at BSM car parks and on-street in the last few days, which means there are now over 580 in operation all over Barcelona.
These new points, with Mennekes and Schuko connectors for motorbikes, and Mennekes connectors for cars, can be found in the Mercat del Guinardó, Rambla del Poble Nou, Gràcia, Sant Genís- Vall d'Hebron , Travessera de Dalt- Park Güell, Cardenal Sant- Vergòs, Porta Sarrià, Plaça Navas, Plaça Joanic, Bilbao Llull, Badajoz and BCN Nord car parks.
On-street rapid charging points for cars have also been set up at Ausiàs March 151, Concepció Arenal 26, Josep Pla 2, Torras i Bages 124, Poesia 2, Química 2, Pare Mariana 21 and Salvador Espriu 97.

Recommendations for when you recharge your electric vehicle
- Make sure the charging point is available. Locate your point on the charging points map on the app or website, and if it is an on-street point, book it 20 minutes beforehand.
- You have two parking spaces at the on-street charging points, so you can use the one best suited to where your vehicle’s charging port is located. Remember the maximum parking time at on-street parking points for cars and vans is 30 minutes, and two hours for motorbikes.
- Prepare your vehicle for charging: open the charging port and prepare the cable.
- Access the smou app and identify yourself. Do not unhook the charging cable before activating the service.
- Plug in your vehicle. Remember you have a time limit for plugging in the cable.
- Once you have charged your vehicle, check that the plug has been securely replaced, and collect the cable from the pavement.
